Omaha, Neb. – The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-2 decision to Omaha on Saturday afternoon at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
YSU (3-2) won the doubles point and picked up a win at No. 1 singles against the Mavericks (4-4).
In doubles play, YSU won the point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 3, Nathan Favier and William Rassat picked up a solid 6-1 win. At No. 2, David Alvarez Moreno and Harry Fouzas gave the Guins a lead with a 6-4 victory.
In singles play, the Mavs won singles contest at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 while Favier cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1. At No. 6, UNO won 7-6 (7) and 6-3 to claim the win. At No. 4, Rassat was tied 6-3, 6-7 (5) when the match was clinched.
The Guins return to action on Feb. 9 when the visit William and Mary.
