Indianapolis, Ind. - The Youngstown State baseball team has been predicted to finish fifth in the Horizon League in 2024 after a vote of the league's head coaches, the league announced on Wednesday.

Wright State, the defending Horizon League regular season and tournament champion, was picked to win the 2024 championship. The Raiders received 34 points and four of six first-place votes. Northern Kentucky was selected second with 28 points and one first-place vote while Oakland earned 22 points and one first-place vote to be placed third in the poll. Milwaukee was slotted fourth with 16 points while Youngstown State was tabbed fifth with 15 points. Purdue Fort Wayne checked in at sixth in the poll with 11 points.

The 2024 Horizon League Baseball Championship will take place on May 22-25 at the home site of the highest seed.

Youngstown State opens the 2024 season on Friday when it begins a three-game series against Texas State at Bobcat Ballpark in San Marcos, Texas. First pitch for Friday's season and series opener is slated for 7 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
