The Youngstown State baseball program wishes to thank all the participants who took part in the team's 2025 Golf Extravaganza featuring former World Series champions Tony Pérez, Darrell Evans and Keith Foulke, which was held on Sunday and Monday at The Lake Club in Poland, Ohio.

"The 2025 YSU Baseball Golf Extravaganza was a great success," said YSU head coach Trevor Charpie. "We are honored by the support of this community, and having three great World Series champions in attendance added so much to an already incredible event. We even saw a hole-in-one! We look forward to being able to compete on the field for the Mahoning Valley, and we sincerely thank everyone who helped make it a memorable experience."

The event saw a tremendous turnout once again as 26 foursomes and 104 players took to the course. Golfers enjoyed food trucks and various games that were stationed at different holes throughout the course.

Pérez, Evans and Foulke highlighted the event, speaking at an exclusive dinner on Sunday evening and greeting fans and Penguin faithful during Monday's golf outing.

On a warm, sunny day with temperatures approaching 90 degrees, YSU players, coaches and staff members were able to connect with many familiar faces during the sixth annual event. The program's long-standing support was on full display once again as the field of golfers included former players as well as fans and supporters.

The winning team featured Scott Froelich, Josh Kurth, Steve Cross and Adam Booth while the second-place team included Leo Henry, Bruce Drennan, Rocco Nolfi and Bob Hannon. In addition, Brian Coll carded a hole-in-one on The Lake Club's par-three No. 11.

The YSU baseball program would like to send a special thank you to Leo Henry and The Chestnut Land Company as well as the rest of the event committee (Tanner Avnet, Andy Clutter Bob Hannon, Jason Miller, and Kevin Stefko) for their continued support and hard work to make this event a reality each year.
