Rome, Ga. - Youngstown State women's tennis senior Julia Marko picked up an opening round victory at the ITA Conferene Masters at the Rome Tennis Center to reach the Round of 16 at the event.

Marko opened the event with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win over William & Mary's Hedda Gurholt before dropping a hard-fought 6-4, 6-1 contest to Oklahoma State's Gracie Epps. 

The Penguins are in action in California starting tomorrow at the CSUN Fall Invitational.
