Columbus, Ohio - Youngstown State's Julia Marko dropped two hard-fought three-set matches at the ITA Midwest Regional hosted by Ohio State.

Marko, the lone YSU representative to participate in the event, dropped a main draw first-round contest to Ohio State's Sydni Ratliff - 1-6, 6-2, 6-2. In her consolation contest, Marko suffered a 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 set back to Bianca Molnar of Notre Dame.

The Penguins are next in action at the three-day Viking Invitational which starts on Friday in Cleveland.
