The Youngstown State women's tennis team suffered a 4-1 defeat to Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins fall to 1-2 on the season while Georgetown improves to 2-3.
YSU came out strong winning the doubles point. At No. 2, Elinor Beazley and Line Greyling earned a 6-2 win and the Guins won the point with a 7-5 win at No. 3 by Lili Minich and Yeseniiia Ovcharova.
In singles play, the Hoyas won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 to win the match. Contests at No. 3 and No. 6 singles were tied a set apiece when the match was abandoned.
The Penguins return to play on Friday when they take on Pacific in Las Vegas.
