Nolan Shilling Signs to Join YSU Men’s Golf Program

Western Pennsylvania standout Nolan Shilling has signed to join the Youngstown State men's golf team for the upcoming 2023-24 season, Head Coach Tony Joy announced on Friday.

"Nolan becomes another member of our talented freshmen class for this upcoming season," Joy said. "He brings with him an extremely impressive junior golf resume that was very competitive. I am excited about what Nolan will bring to our team in the coming years."

Shilling, a native of Murrysville, Pa., was a standout at Franklin Regional High School during his prep career. He earned medalist honors at the 2023 Westmoreland County Golf Association Junior Championship at Latrobe Country Club on June 22 with a three-over-par round of 75.

Shilling finished sixth at the 2023 Dick's Sporting Goods Tri-State Amateur Championship at Quicksilver Golf Club on May 25 with a two-round score of 152 (78-74). He finished as the runner up at the 103rd Western Pennsylvania Golf Association's (WPGA) Junior Championship at The Links at Spring Church on June 12 with a two-round 144 (74-70).

Shilling finished as the runner up at the C.R. Miller Match Play Invitational in 2021. He was also a WPGA team member for The Williamson Cup in 2021. Shilling posted an 18-hole tournament scoring average of 73.5 during his senior campaign at Franklin Regional. He intends to study business administration at Youngstown State.
