Ann Arbor, Mich. - The Youngstown State men's tennis competed at the ITA Midwest Regionals on Thursday and Friday at the Varsity Tennis Center at the University of Michigan.
Highlighting play on Friday were two doubles wins by Favier and Clement Mainguy. Favier and Mainguy beat Tomas Zlatohlavek and Michael Minasyan from Wisconsin by a 8-4 margin. Later in the day, the duo beat Illinois's Jeremy Zhang and William Monz in a thrilling 8-7 (11-9) battle. The run reached the round of 16 where they dropped a contest to Ohio State.
Also Balci and Nishant Dabas beat Michigan State's Luke Baylis and Josh Portnoy by an 8-5 margin.
The Penguins are next in action on Oct. 27-29 when they head up to Cleveland for the Vikings Invitational.
