The Youngstown State women's golf team will conclude its fall season on Monday and Tuesday when it competes in Central Michigan's Chippewa Invitational at Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Mich.

The Penguins are coming off their third tournament victory of the 2023-24 season after claiming the team title at Niagara's Purple Eagles Invitational on Oct. 1-2. YSU posted a three-round team total of 913 to win the event by an impressive 36 shots. Individually, freshman Neeranuch Prajunpanich claimed medalist honors for the first time in her career with a three-round 221 (80-70-71) while Madie Smithco was second with a 224 (73-77-74) and Lizzie Saur finished third with a 229 (77-76-76).

Youngstown State also claimed victories at the YSU Kickoff and the Roseann Schwartz Invitational previously this fall giving the Penguins three wins in four events played.

The tournament field at the Chippewa Invitational will feature nine other teams including Central Michigan, Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, Green Bay, Michigan, Oakland and UIC.

The teams will play 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday in the two-day, 36-hole event. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. each day. The course will play approximately 5,897 yards and par is 72. Live scoring will be available via Golf Genius.

Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Smithco, Prajunpanich, Saur, Titita Loudtragulngam and Adena Rugola. In addition, Chaela Barnett will be competing as an individual.

All six Penguins competing at the event have participated in each of YSU's first four tournaments this fall. Smithco is averaging a team-best 72.9 strokes per round with a low round of 67 through the first four events of the fall season.
