Charlottesville, Va. – The Youngstown State women tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 4 seed Virginia on Saturday afternoon at the Boar's Head Resort.
The Penguins conclude the season at 13-10 while Virginia improves to 21-5. The Cavaliers advance to play Princeton in the second round tomorrow.
YSU was on the verge of picking up a win at No. 3 doubles when the point was clinched. At No. 3, Elisa Rigzaio and
Eliska Masarikova had a 5-2 lead over Amber O'Dell and Socia Munera when UVa clinched the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
In singles play, Virginia picked up wins at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to win the match. Rigazio was tied in her second set while
Julia Marko trailed just 3-2.
