The Youngstown State women soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Northern Kentucky on Thursday afternoon at Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex.

The Penguins fall to 0-5 on the season while the Norse improve to 3-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in league play.

Northern Kentucky outshot the Penguins, 10-4, and had four shots on goal to the Penguins' one.

Youngstown State goalkeeper Mackenzie Simon tallied three saves in her season debut.

The Norse's  Kailey Ivins dribbled nearly 60 yards through the Penguins defense and place a shot in the lower left corner past Simon.

YSU's Regan LaVigna had a total of three shots and the Penguins' lone shot on goal.

Youngstown State returns to action against Purdue Fort Wayne, Wednesday, March 17. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Concordia Luthern High School in Fort Wayne, Ind.
