Box Score Moon Township, Pa. - The Youngstown State women's soccer team lost a tough 1-0 overtime decision to Robert Morris at the North Athletic Complex on a chilly and overcast Wednesday afternoon.
With the defeat YSU ends the year with a 2-11-5 record while going 2-5-4 in Horizon League contests. RMU closes out the campaign at 6-10-3 and 2-6-3.
Senior goalkeeper Zeeyana Jivraj was peppered the game second half, but came through with an impressive effort making eight saves.
In overtime, the Guins had a prime opportunity to pull out the victory. Two minutes into the extra session, YSU moved the ball briskly down field to the right of the RMU box. After a great centering pass, Abriana Rondin found some open space in front of the net, but her shot attempt went over the top of goal. Two minutes later, RMU's Haleigh Finale ripped a shot off a loose ball from the top right of the box past a diving Jivraj for the game winner at the 94:33 mark.
Finale led the way for RMU registering 10 shots, six of which were on goal. Jordan Evans and Lianna Van Sice were credited with YSU's shots on the goal in the game. Overall, the Colonials had 27 shots to YSU's five. RMU goalkeeper Isabella Bohlen picked up the clean sheet in the win.
Jivraj made 11 saves in her final game with the Penguins.
