Box Score Sophomore goalkeeper Brooklynn Kirkpatrick recorded her first career shutout, but the Youngstown State women's soccer was forced to settle for a 0-0 double overtime tie against UIC on Saturday afternoon at Farmers National Bank Field.
The Penguins move to 1-7-4 overall and 1-1-3 in the Horizon League while the Flames are now 0-8-3 overall and 0-3-2 in league play.
Kirkpatrick was credited with nine saves and faced 17 total shots from the Flames.
The Penguins were outshot by UIC, 17-10, and junior Marcella Sizer led YSU with three shots while sophomores Justine Appolonia and Elise Bush each had two shots.
Youngstown State visits Green Bay, Thursday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Eastern.
