The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Lamar on Wednesday at the Thompson Tennis Center.
Picking up three-set singles wins for the Penguins were Erik Gran and Will Everett. At No. 4 singles, Gran picked up a 6-7, 6-3, 10-3 win over Sebastian Santibanez. At No. 5 singles, Everett also rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win against Flippo Salsini.
Lamar (7-12) earned straight set wins at the other single spots. The Cardinals also won matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to earn the doubles point.
The Penguins (3-6) are back in action on Friday against Georgia Southern. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
