Youngstown, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's soccer team fell to IUPUI, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex.

The Jaguars improve to 7-3-1 (1-1 Horizon League), while the Penguins drop to 2-8-1 (0-2 Horizon League).

IUPUI took the lead just four minutes into the game when Morgan Rymer dished a pass to Jillian Steinbrink who crushed a shot from 30 yards out into the back of net.

The Penguins generated a scoring opportunity late in the first half when Sammy Salatino connected on a through ball with Sydney Ossege, who's shot was saved by Sophia Lipka, the IUPUI goal keeper.

At the half, the Jaguars out shot the Penguins 8-4, but the Guins did have more corner kick opportunities, 3-1. Kate McEachern finished the half with two saves.

The Jaguars extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second half when Elizabeth Bueckers scored at the 50:56 mark. IUPUI pushed their to 3-0 in the 75th minute on a goal from Natalie McNally.

For the game, IUPUI held the shot advantage over YSU 22-7 and had more corner kick opportunites, 5-3. Seven different Penguins recorded a shot while McEachern finished the game with six saves.

The Penguins continue Horizon League play on Wednesday, Oct. 2 when they travel north to battle the Cleveland State Vikings at 7 p.m. from Krenzler Soccer Field.
