The Youngstown State volleyball team was swept at Oakland on Friday night, falling 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 to the Golden Grizzlies at the Athletics Center O'Rena.

Sam Brown was YSU's top attacker with six kills, and Sarah Varcolla was next with four. Setter Val Jeffery added three kills in eight attempts, and Varcolla and Lori Vanbeek both registered four blocks.

Oakland got a match-high 15 kills from Sammy Condon, and the Golden Grizzlies had 46 kills to YSU's 25. Both teams finished with eight blocks.

The Penguins will play at Cleveland State on Sunday at 4 p.m.
