Women's Soccer Falls at UIC, 1-0, Earns Fifth Seed

Chicago, Illinois -- The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Horizon League foe UIC on Friday evening and earned the fifth seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship.
The Penguins, who fell to 7-8-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the Horizon League, earned the fifth seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship, and will face the fourth seed Green Bay Phoenix, Monday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. EDT in Green Bay, Wis.
The Flames improved to 3-15 overall and 1-7 in Horizon League play and earned the program's first victory in league play.
UIC's Jessica Belsito scored the match's only goal at the 52:05 mark when she lifted a shot from 20 yards out over the outstretched arms of YSU goalkeeper Katie Montgomery.
The Penguins outshot the Flames, 13-11, and had six shots on goal, but the Flames tallied eight shots on goal.
Montgomery posted seven saves for the Penguins.
