
Women's Soccer Falls to Green Bay, 3-1, in Horizon League Quarterfinals

Green Bay, Wisconsin -- The Youngstown State women's soccer team's 2014 season concluded with a 3-1 loss to Green Bay at Santaga Stadium in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Championship.
The Penguins finish the season with an overall record of 7-9-2 while the Phoenix improve to 11-6-2 and will face top-seeded Valparaiso in the semifinals, Thursday, Nov. 6.
Sophomore Kathy Baquero scored her sixth goal of the season and gave the Penguins an early 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the match.
Green Bay's Heidi Hartman, who took 10 shots, knotted the match at 1-1 with her 12th goal of the season at the 39:04 mark of the first half.
Green Bay took the lead just a couple minutes later on Alex Zeller's fifth goal of the year at the 41:26 mark.
Hartman added another goal - her 13th of the season - in the 78th minute to push the Phoenix lead to 3-1 to seal the victory.
Green Bay took of total of 24 shots and 11 shots on goal compared to seven shots and two shots on goal for the Penguins.
YSU goalkeeper Katie Montgomery recorded eight saves in the loss.
