The Youngstown State women's soccer team (0-1) dropped the 2011 season opener to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, 4-0, on Friday at the UMKC Tournament.
SIUE's Michelle Auer came off the bench to score two goals and assisted on another to lead the Cougars, who improve to 1-0.
Sophomore Allison Ludwig and freshman Jade Flory each tallied three shots for the Penguins.
The Guins take on UMKC, Sunday, Aug. 21, at 12:05 p.m.
