The Penguins improve to 2-1-1 with tie Against Canisius

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State soccer team rallied from a goal down to take the lead only to give up a late goal en route to a 2-2 double overtime tie against Canisius on Friday evening at Stambaugh Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Griffins took the lead just 10 seconds into the second stanza on Laura Ellis first goal of the season.
Sophomore Geneva Strelka knotted the contest when she drilled a shot in the bottom left part of the net from 25-yards out with 16 minutes left.
Just over minute later, sophomore Kara Cooper, who assisted on Strelka's goal, gave the Penguins a 2-1 edge on a cross from sophomore Hannah Snyder.
With just 7:42 left in the game, Canisius' Kelly Reinwald headed Sylvia Kowalski's corner into the left side of the goal to knot the game at 2-2.
Cooper's game-winning attempt with 31 seconds remaining sailed wide right of the goal.
The Penguins host IPFW, Sunday, Aug. 30, at 1 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
