Youngstown -- Sophomore Kara Cooper scored twice, including the game-winning goal with one second remaining in overtime, to lead the Youngstown State soccer team to a 2-1 victory over IPFW on Sunday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.

The Penguins improve to 2-1-1 while the Mastodons fall to 0-2.

IPFW took control of the game early when Lisa Underwood scored a breakaway goal just 6:39 into the game to give the Mastodons a 1-0 lead.

Cooper answered with a breakaway goal of her own, lofting her shot over the charging goalkeeper's head with 15 minutes left in the first half.

In the second half, the Penguins tallied nine shots but failed to connect while IPFW could scored on their four shot attempts.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Kline posted six saves in her second win of the season.

The Penguins host Kent State, Sunday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium. YSU's Sept. 4 contest at Miami (Ohio) was cancelled due to an NCAA scheduling ruling that forced the RedHawks to cancel one game.
