Jill Raslevich was the first player in Youngstown State volleyball history to record more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. Ten years after accomplishing the feat, she remains just one of four individuals who have reached the 1,000-plateau in both categories.

Raslevich -- at 5-feet, six inches -- was a standout outside hitter for the Penguins from 1992 through 1995. In her final two years, Youngstown State won 44 matches and a .688 winning percentage.

She was part of the first team in school history to win at least 20 matches in a season and helped YSU to consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time ever. In 1994, YSU was 22-12 and followed that up in 1995 with a 22-8 mark.

Upon completion of her career in 1995, she ranked first in school history in career kills (1,132), kills per game (3.16), total attempts (2,877), digs (1,495), digs per game (4.18) and second in hitting percentage (.248). Ten years later she still ranks in the top four in all those categories while remaining the all-time leader in digs and digs per game. In fact, no player in school history is within 300 of her career digs total.

She also finished her career with 124 service aces, which ranks fifth-best all-time, in 358 career games played.

As a senior in 1995, she posted 328 kills (3.77 per game), a career-high .281 hitting percentage, 431 digs (4.95 per game) and 28 aces. She led all NCAA Division I players by averaging 4.95 digs per game. For her efforts she was the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year.

YSU was 22-8 overall in a season that featured a 10-match winning streak. The Penguins were Mid-Con Eastern Division champions before being upset by Eastern Illinois in the conference tournament. She was a team captain and was also named the all-tournament teams at Ohio and Northeastern.

As a junior in 1994, she was a second-team Eastern Division All-Mid-Con selection. She posted a team-high 310 kills (2.95 per game), a .265 hitting percentage and 27 service aces to go along with a team-high 389 digs (3.71 per game). YSU posted a 22-12 overall mark -- the first 20-win campaign in school history -- advancing to the Mid-Con Tournament title match against Valparaiso. Entering her junior year, YSU had won a combined 19 matches the previous two seasons.

As a sophomore in 1993, she had 234 kills (3.39 per game), a .210 hitting percentage, 16 service aces and 270 digs (3.91 per game).

As a freshman in 1992, she led the team with 260 kills and 405 digs (4.17 per game). She ranked second on the squad with a .238 hitting percentage and had 53 service aces.

While at Youngstown State she earned a degree in Social Work and later went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a licensed social worker in both Ohio and Pennsylvania and is currently a Clinical Social Worker at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

A native of Johnstown, Pa., Raslevich graduated from Bishop McCourt High School where she was a two-time first-team all-state selection.

Jill, the daughter of Tom and Margaret Raslevich, resides in Pittsburgh, Pa.
