Bowling Adds Two-Time All-American, Team USA Member Elizabeth Teuber from Transfer Portal

Youngstown, Ohio — Two-time All-American and Team USA member Elizabeth Teuber has joined the Youngstown State bowling program as a late addition from the transfer portal, YSU head coach Doug Kuberski announced Monday.
Teuber will be active for the Penguins for the 2026-27 campaign and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Elizabeth's impressive individual and team accomplishments both in the U.S. and internationally speak for themselves," Kuberski said. "She brings a passion for the game and a strong work ethic both on and off the lanes. We see her and her character not only fitting in with our culture, but adding to it in many ways. We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to the Penguin family."
Teuber, a junior from Holly, Mich., comes to Youngstown with an impressive resume from her time at Maryville University and on Team USA.
At Maryville, she was named the National Tenpin Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year, the Great Lakes Valley Conference Bowler of the Year and a Second-Team All-American in each of her first two collegiate seasons. The Saints were regional finalists in each of her seasons and won the GLVC championship in 2025.
She was the individual champion of the 2025 Music City Classic, the final regular-season tournament, putting an exclamation point on her freshman season when she was named the NTCA Rookie of the Year and GLVC Freshman of the Year. As a sophomore, she ranked 13th in the country in overall scoring average at 20.81 pins per frame, and she was fifth in makeable spare conversion percentage, eighth in single-pin spare percentage and ninth in fill frame percentage. In addition to her accomplishments on the lanes, she was named an Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators and the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's bowling.
Outside of the collegiate season, Teuber became the first bowler in USBC history to win the Team USA Trials and the U.S. Amateur Championships in the same year in January. In July, as a member of Team USA, Teuber won a gold medal in the team event and silver in doubles at the International Bowling Federation World Youth Championships. In addition to her Team USA status in 2026, she was a Junior Team USA member in 2024 and 2026.
Teuber joins a talented Penguins team this season that returns all eight bowlers from its 2025-26 squad that ranked eighth in the final NTCA Poll of the season. She joins freshman Malayna Calo as newcomers on the 2026-27 team.
