A native of Massillon, Ohio, where she performed scholastically for Jackson High School, Holly Seimetz was a four-sport athlete during her high school days. She played volleyball where she was an All Federal League selection and Most Valuable Player of the team. She played softball where she pitched and played first base, earning another Most Valuable Player trophy. She participated in track and field where she qualified for the District Tourneys in the shot put. However, it was as a basketball player that she made a name for herself, and it was on the hardwood at YSU that continued her court excellence.

While in high school she earned three varsity letters, made the All Stark County First Team and the Jackson Journal M.V.P. Award in addition to being selected to the Evening Independent All Stark County Squad.

Upon her arrival at Youngstown State, Seimetz teamed with all-time leading women's scorer Wanda Grant to give the Penguins a one-two punch that teams seldom have the luxury of utilizing. Seimetz helped the Penguins to a 62-25 overall mark and average of 15+ wins per season, not too shabby an accomplishment when the team played and average of just 21.8 games per season.

As a freshman she grabbed 232 rebounds (an average of 10.0 per outing) and scored just 205 points (an average of 8.9 per outing). You can see that from the outset of her career with Wanda Grant, scoring and rebounding were their forte. The hard–nosed play of the team made other state universities stand up and take notice come tourney time when they competed in the AIAQ (Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women) state tourneys.

Her freshman campaign was the last time in her collegiate career that her rebounding would outnumber her scoring. As a sophomore, she tallied 250 points (13.9 per outing) and hauled in 159 caroms (8.8 per game). As a junior, her 434 points (17.4 per game) and rebounds (255 in 25 games, and average of 10.2 per outing) were overshadowed by her sizzling field goal percentage of .575 as she connected on 183 of 318 attempts. Her senior season saw her score 405 points – an average of 18.4 per outing in average of 10.6 per outing. To this day, she is just one of three Lady Penguin cagers to average double digits in both scoring and rebounding for her career (the other two are Dorothy Bowers and Wanda Grant, the number one and two scorers of all-time for the Penguins).

To date, she is the fifth leading scorer of all-time, while her 153 assists for a career ranks her in the top five in a career for all forwards/centers for the Penguins.

Since her graduation in 1983 (she earned a BS in Education while minoring in Business Administration), she entered the teaching field and is currently teaching Physical Education at They Rayen School where she is coaching varsity basketball and volleyball. She has also taught or coached at Jackson Milton High School, Immaculate Heart of Mary and Byzantine Catholic Central, Sharon High School, Chaney High School, and South High School where she coached the team to their first-ever City Series basketball title in 1992.

She also participated in the Olympic Basketball tryouts in Colorado in 1984 as well.

She is single and currently resides in Austintown.
