2007 (Junior): Earned Second-Team All-Horizon League honors as a designated hitter after batting a career-best .362 with 42 runs scored, eight homers and 44 RBIs...upped his career RBI total to 127 (just 11 shy of the YSU record), and his home run total to 21 (five shy of the YSU record)...ranked among the top 10 hitters in the Horizon League in nine different offensive categories (No. 3 in home runs; No. 5 in total bases; No. 6 in average, hits, RBIs and slugging; No. 8 in on base percentage and triples; No. 9 in runs scored)...led the team in slugging, RBIs, homers, walks (20), hit by pitch (10) and sacrifice flies (4)...collected 22-multi-hit games and a team-high 12 multi-RBI games...had a career-long 19-game hitting streak from March 10 to April 4, which is the sixth-longest in school history...had a career day against Butler on April 24, going 4-for-6 with two home runs – a grand slam and a three-run homer - and nine RBIs...named the Horizon League Player of the Week and was listed on the College Baseball Foundation’s National Honor Roll on March 26 for his efforts...batted .500 with two home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBIs in four games at the Horizon League Tournament...went 4-for-6 with a homer, four runs scored and three RBIs against Butler in the tournament (5/24)...hit safely in the final six games of the season, and had at least two hits in each of the final five games.
2006 (Sophomore): Was a First-Team All-Horizon League selection as a designated hitter...set career-high numbers in nearly every offensive category...set the school record for RBIs in a season with 58...his 75 hits were the fifth-most in school history while his nine home runs tied for fourth-most...racked up 120 total bases, which was the second-most in school history...started 54 out of 55 games, including 22 at catcher, 21 at DH, six in right field, five in left field...hit third in 29 games and cleanup in 24...ranked second in the Horizon League in RBIs and finished in the top 10 in average, hits, slugging percentage, on base percentage, home runs, total bases, walks and times hit by pitch...hit .357 overall, .441 against lefties and .392 with runners in scoring position...registered a team-high 19 multi-RBI games and 22 multi-hit games... was held hitless in back-to-back games only twice...reached base in 49 games...also had eight sacrifice bunts...had a tremendous start to the season, hitting .405 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in March...homered in three straight games from March 16 to March 18...posted a season-high 12-game hitting streak from Feb. 25 to March 18...also had a seven-game hitting streak from April 23 to May 5, and he ended the year on an eight-game streak...was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on March 14...recorded a career-best four hits and drove in four runs at Morehead State (3/15)...also drove in four runs and scored three times at Cleveland State (5/20)...scored a career-best three runs against West Liberty (3/23) and Illinois-Chicago (5/6).
2005 (Redshirt Freshman):Named to Horizon League All-Newcomer team...started 26 games behind the plate and 16 as the designated hitter...recorded 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games...was a clutch hitter all season, hitting .450 with runners in scoring position and collecting 18 two-out RBIs...led the team in home runs (6), triples (2) and sacrifice flies (5)...ranked second in slugging percentage (.500) and third in total bases (75) and RBIs (33)...hit .467 (28-for-60) with 13 runs scored and 14 RBIs over an 18-game span from April 16 to May 18 ... had a nine-game hitting streak from April 16 to May 7 over which he hit .429 with six runs scored...posted a career-high six RBIs against IPFW as he hit a grand slam and a two-run homer (4/3)...hit a three-run home run earlier in the week against Duquesne (3/29)...also homered against Kent State (5/8) as part of a 2-for-3 performance and at UIC (5/15)...hit 9-for-16 with six RBIs and three runs scored in four games against UIC...posted his first career four-hit game against the Flames and collected three RBIs (5/14)...went a combined 4-for-6 with four runs scored in a doubleheader against Wright State (4/30)...had his first career three-hit game against the Raiders in game two...hit a three-run homer and scored twice against UW-Milwaukee in the Horizon League Tournament (5/28).

Bay High School: Was a four-year letterwinner...and team captain one year...holds the school record for most walks...was an all-conference and honorable mention selection...team was district champs and regional semi-finals runner-up...also lettered three years in basketball.
Personal: Earned a degree in Exercise Science from YSU…is currently a Therapeutic Area Manager for Genentech, a Biotechnology Sales group…Erich and his wife, Annie, have two daughters, Heidi and Greta…the family resides in Bay Village, Ohio.
