Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State's swimming and diving teams have a packed 2026-27 slate with more than a dozen regular-season events leading up to the Horizon League Championships. First-year head coach Hannah Saiz announced the schedule on Wednesday, nine days before the Penguins open the season in Indianapolis.
On the men's team, four Penguins return who placed among the top eight in individual events at the 2026 Horizon League Championships. There are 13 returning student-athletes overall from last year's squad that placed third, the highest finish in program history at the conference meet. Olivia Sweetman, the Swimmer of the Meet at the Horizon League Championships in 2026, leads a women's squad that returns three top-eight finishers at the conference event and 13 returning swimmers overall.
