Career Notes: Became YSU's all-time strikeout leader on April 2, 2021, with the 266th strikeout of his career, breaking Aaron Swenson's previous record of 265, which had stood since 2010…  Finished his career with 323 strikeouts, which ranks second in Horizon League history... Became YSU's all-time leader in games started with the 50th start of his career on April 9, 2021… Surpassed Blake Aquadro's previous mark of 49 starts, which had stood since 2013… Finished his career with 57 games started… Finished his career ranked third in YSU history with 318.2 innings pitched… Became just the third player in program history and the first since Swenson (2007-10) to reach 300 career innings pitched.

2020 (R-Senior) | Game-By-Game StatsTied for the team lead with four starts as the primary Saturday starter… Named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team… Named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 17… Finished with a 2-1 record and a 2.74 ERA in 23 innings… Struck out 25 batters while walking only five… Tied for the Horizon League lead with his two victories… Ranked second in the league in strikeouts and third in innings pitched… Limited opponents to a .159 batting average… Posted a team-high 9.78 K/9… Fanned at least six batters in three of his four starts… Allowed one run on four hits and struck out 14 batters in 12 innings over his final two outings… Allowed just two runs on two solo homers and only three baserunners while striking out seven over a season-high seven innings at Houston (2/15) in his first start since May 5, 2018… Retired 18 of the first 20 hitters he faced and 21 of 24 overall while sitting down the Cougars in order in four different frames… Allowed just two hits and had six strikeouts over six scoreless innings in his first win at Abilene Christian (2/29)… Surrendered one run on two hits and had a season-high eight strikeouts over six innings to earn his second victory at N.C. 2018 (Junior) | Game-By-Game StatsMade 12 starts on the mound, which matched a team high… Named Second-Team All-Horizon League… Finished with a 3-8 record and a 4.41 ERA in a team-high 69.1 innings pitched… His 69.1 innings were also a career high and tied for seventh-most in the Horizon League… Led the team with a career-high 82 strikeouts while issuing 33 walks… His 82 strikeouts ranked fourth in the league and tied for the seventh-most in a single season in school history… Became the first Penguin to record at least 80 strikeouts in a season since Phil Klein had 105 in 2011... Posted a career-best 10.64 K/9, which was almost a four-point improvement from the year prior and ranked as the sixth-highest mark in a single season in program history (minimum 50 innings)… Struck out at least five batters in 10 of his 12 starts while fanning at least 10 on three different occasions… Pitched at least five innings in nine of his outings… Went a season-high seven innings in four different contests… Matched his career high with 11 strikeouts against Seattle (3/3)… Earned his first win after allowing one run on five hits and striking out six over seven innings in the second game of a doubleheader against Milwaukee (3/17)… Notched his second straight conference win after surrendering just three hits and fanning eight batters over seven shutout innings in the second game of a doubleheader against Northern Kentucky (3/24)… Won his third consecutive start by allowing just two unearned runs on four hits and striking out 10 over six innings in the first game of a doubleheader against UIC (3/31)… Named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on April 2.

2017 (Sophomore) | Game-By-Game Stats: Pitched in 18 games and made a team-high 13 starts... Finished with a 1-7 record and a 6.72 ERA in a career-high and team-best 65.2 innings... Led the Penguins with 50 strikeouts while walking 38… Struck out a season-high nine batters in the first game of a doubleheader against Oakland (5/14)… Fanned at least three batters in eight of his 18 games… Earned his victory over a Georgia Tech team that was ranked 17th in the nation (2/26)... Allowed three runs and stuck out five in the 12-3 win… Recorded eight strikeouts over a career-high eight innings at Milwaukee (4/14).

2016 (Freshman) | Game-By-Game Stats: Pitched in 14 games and made 13 starts... Finished with a 2-7 record and a 6.52 ERA in 59.1 innings... Led the Penguins with 58 strikeouts and 8.8 K/9... Had the most strikeouts by a YSU freshman since Justin Thomas struck out 80 in 2003... Had the most strikeouts by a Penguins left-hander since Chris Dennis fanned 61 batters in 2006... Tied for ninth in the Horizon League in strikeouts... Struck out a career-high 11 batters in five innings at Fresno State in his second career start (2/26)... The 11 strikeouts were the most by any Penguins pitcher since Phil Klein struck out 13 batters at Toledo on March 20, 2011... Had the most strikeouts by a YSU freshman since Thomas fanned 11 against Butler on April 27, 2003... Earned his first victory in game two of a doubleheader sweep at Missouri (3/12)... Allowed two runs, one of which was unearned, on one hit and six walks in the 3-2 win... Blanked UIC over six innings in a 1-0 Penguins victory in his second win (5/8)... That win over UIC ended a stretched where he allowed six earned runs in a span of 27 innings... Struck out nine batters over a season-high seven innings and left with a 2-0 lead against Canisius (4/29).

High School: Earned four letters and was a team captain three years at Springfield… Struck out more than 200 batters in his career… Also had a career batting average above .365… Named the Portage Trail Conference Player of the Year and was a two-time first-team all-conference selection… Earned the school’s Archie Griffin Award… Was also named First-Team All-PTC and honorable mention all-state in basketball.
