The Youngstown State women's lacrosse program had two representatives featured in the 2026 Mid-American Conference specialty awards, the conference announced Wednesday.
Mackenzie Flannigan capped off her historic season with a First Team All-MAC nod, becoming just the fifth player in program history to be named first team all-conference. She set new single-season program records in both ground balls (55) and caused turnovers (39), and set the new program career record for caused turnovers with 56, accomplished in the season finale vs. Eastern Michigan. Flannigan led the MAC in CT/G (2.44) and ranked second in GB/G (3.44). Her seven ground balls vs. Detroit Mercy on Apr. 4 rank in a tie for third on the single-game program list, while her six caused turnovers vs Central Michigan on Apr. 11 rank second in that category.
Molly Brooks wrapped up a strong first collegiate season with a MAC All-Freshman Team selection. Brooks led all Penguins freshmen and ranked fourth on the team in both goals (nine) and points (12), while also scooping six ground balls throughout the season. Brooks made her first career start vs. Monmouth on Feb. 22. She exploded for a career-high three goals vs. Detroit Mercy on Apr. 4.
