Farmville, Va. – The Youngstown State softball team picked up a pair of wins at the Longwood Spring Break Classic.
The Penguins shut out Le Moyne, 9-0, and knocked off Longwood, 11-2. With the two wins, Youngstown State improves to 10-9 on the season.
Freshman Kennedy Kimball fired two-hit shutout with five strikeouts to lead the Penguins to the victory over the Dolphins.
 Senior Bree Kohler went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in while junior Selah Moyer was 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs batted in.
Freshman Tatum Werley also delivered a base-clearing three-run double to aid in the victory.
In the night cap, senior Emma Gilklerson led the Penguins offense going 3-or-3 with two RBIs while senior Bree Kohler drove in four runs on a 2-for-4 performance.
Freshman Paiton Murphy picked up the win tossing 4.2 innings.
Youngstown State faces Le Moyne and Longwood on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.
