Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State softball team's 2026 season came to an end after dropping a 14-2 decision in an elimination game against Robert Morris on Friday morning.
The Penguins conclude the campaign with a 31-20 overall record while Colonials improve to 30-17 and advance to the loser's bracket final.
Junior Selah Moyer belted a two-run home run to lead the Penguins, who tallied just five hits.
Robert Morris jumped out to an early 5-0 by scoring five runs in the top of the second inning. Moyer's two-run blast in the bottom half of the frame cut the deficit to 5-2, but the Colonials added four runs in the top of the third inning.
Youngstown State also committed five errors, helping the Colonials to seven runs.
Robert Morris also added a run in the fourth and four more in the fifth.
