Moon Township, Pa. – The Youngstown State men's basketball team's season came to an end after a 68-53 loss to Robert Morris on Wednesday at the UPMC Events Center.
The Penguins end the year with an overall record of 15-17 while the Colonials improve to 22-10 and advance to the semifinals of the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship.
Senior Vlad Salaridze led the Penguins with 18 points, nine rebounds and five steals and connected on 5-for-10 from the field. Senior Cris Carroll scored 17 points and made three 3-pointers.
The Penguins trailed the Colonials by five, 28-23, at the break and Salaridze scored the first five points of the second half to knot the game at 28-28 with 19:28 to go.
The game remained a one-possession contest over the next six minutes, and the Penguins trailed by one 36-35 after a dunk by Imanuel Zorgvol with 13:18 to go.
Robert Morris went on a 16-2 run to build its cushion to 15 points, 52-37, at the 8:01 mark.
Youngstown State trailed by double digits the rest of the game and the Colonials led by as many as 20 points with 4:32 remaining in the contest.
