
YSU Men’s Basketball Set to Take on Ohio State in Non-Conference Action on Nov. 6

Youngstown, Ohio – Youngstown State men's basketball Head Coach Ethan Faulkner announced on Wednesday the Penguins have agreed to play Ohio State at the Schottenstein Center on Nov. 6 as part of the 2026-27 non-conference schedule.
Game time and television assignments will be announced at a later date.
This marks second time in the last three years and the seventh time overall the Penguins will face the Big Ten member and in-state foe Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes defeated the Penguins, 81-47, in the last meeting on Nov. 11, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.
Ohio State finished the 2025-26 campaign with an overall record of 21-13 and a 12-8 mark in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament and lost to TCU, 66-64, in the first round.
This game also marks the 23rd meeting between the Penguins and a team from the Big Ten. Besides Ohio State, Youngstown State has played Big Ten members Michigan (0-6), Michigan State (0-2), Minnesota (0-4), Penn State (0-2), and Purdue (0-2).
Youngstown State's complete non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season will be announced in the coming weeks.
