Bowling Earns At-Large Berth to NCAA Tournament

Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State's bowling team has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight year and will compete at the Lansing Regional on April 3-4. The Penguins learned their postseason destination during the NCAA Selection Show while gathered at the Payiavlas Family Classroom in the Constantini Multimedia Center on campus.

YSU is headed to Royal Scot Golf & Bowl in the Lansing Regional for the fourth time in the last five seasons. It will open competition at 9 a.m. on Friday against North Carolina A&T, which it beat in the regional championship match in Rochester in 2025. The Penguins and Aggies will be joined in Lansing by Jacksonville State, the tournament's top overall seed, Carroll and Fayetteville State.

Carroll and Fayetteville State will compete in a play-in match at 9 a.m. on Thursday, and there will be a practice session at 1 p.m. the same day. The regional will shift to a double-elimination format on Friday.

The champion of the Lansing Regional, as well as the winners at the three other regional tournaments, will advance to the National Collegiate Bowling Championship in Parma Heights, Ohio. Overall, 19 teams are in the bracket, with 11 clinching automatic bids from conference tournaments and eight earning at-large berths.
