Cote Finishes as Runner-Up at Trials, Qualifies for Team Canada

Former Youngstown State bowler Jade Cote will once again represent Team Canada after finishing as the silver medalist at the 2026 Canadian Team Trials.

Cote, a native of Farnham, Quebec, and a Penguin from the 2021-22 through 2024-25 seasons, is on the adult national team in Canada for the fifth straight year. The trials were held this year at Rose Bowl in Windsor, Ontario.

The former Penguin All-American and anchor of YSU's 2025 National Championship team averaged 208.93 over 30 games of qualifying and held the top spot by 305 pins. She posted the highest sets in the last two blocks, setting two new Canadian records. That performance earned Cote a bye into the gold medal round of the stepladder format, where she finished as the runner-up to Felicia Wong.

Cote's previous international experience includes bowling for Team Canada at the 2023 IBF World Championships, where she won a silver medal in trios. She also won a bronze medal in trios at the 2023 Youth Pan American Championships and helped Canada win gold at the 2025 PANAM Bowling Youth Championship. She was named the Adult Ladies Canadian Bowler of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.
