Cote, Marx Voted First-Team All-Americans; Doseck Named Honorable Mention

Las Vegas — On the eve of its third Final Four appearance, three Youngstown State bowlers were announced as All-Americans by the National Tenpin Coaches Association at the annual NCAA Bowling postseason banquet, which was held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. Jade Cote and Madyson Marx were named to the first team, and Madison Doseck was tabbed as an honorable mention selection.

For Cote, it is her second straight season being celebrated among the top bowlers in the country as a First-Team All-American. Marx is a first-team selection for the first time in her career, and she is an All-American for the third consecutive season. This is Doseck's first All-American honor.

Cote, a senior from Farnham, Quebec, ranked among the top three bowlers in the country in overall scoring average and strike percentage during the regular season as one of a small group of bowlers to be first-team All-Americans in both 2024-25. She was previously named to the All-Conference USA First Team after being honored as one of the conference co-bowlers of the month twice during the regular season. Cote, who served as YSU's anchor during most of the season and during the entirety of the Rochester Regional, is on pace to set YSU's single-season records for overall scoring average and Baker frame average.

Marx, a fifth-year senior from Maplewood, Minn., has improved her standing on the All-America teams over each of the last three seasons, going from Honorable Mention in 2023 to Second Team in 2024 to First Team in 2025. She ranked sixth in the country in the Player Composite Performance Index during the regular season, and she ranked among the top 15 bowlers in the nation in overall scoring average and strike percentage. She was the MVP of the Music City Classic to conclude the regular season, and she led all bowlers in traditional average at the Rochester Regional with a 232.67.

Doseck is a fourth-year Penguin from Wapakoneta, Ohio, who is being rewarded for having her best overall season as a senior.  She ranks third on the team in overall scoring average at 20.43 pins per frame and Baker frame average at 20.63, both of which are career highs. She earned her first career MVP award and individual championship at the Garden State Classic in November, and she ranked seventh in the country in strike percentage the conclusion of the regular season.

Youngstown State will begin play at the Final Four at the Suncoast Bowling Center on Friday at noon Eastern / 9 a.m. Pacific against Nebraska. The match will be broadcast live on ncaa.com.
