Spartanburg, S.C. – The Youngstown State softball team opened the 2025 campaign with a pair of losses on day one of the Terrier Invite hosted by Wofford on Friday.
The Penguins (0-2) dropped the season opener to Dayton, 6-0, followed by a 13-3 five-inning loss to Towson.
Senior Elyssa Imler collected the Penguins' lone hit against the Flyers.
Freshman Ayla Ray went 2-for-2 and scored a run against the Tigers. Senior Taylor Truran drove in two runs and Bree Kohler posted a run-scoring single.
Youngstown State faces Wofford, Saturday, Feb. 8. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
