Rock Hill, S.C. – Sophomore Macy Littler went 2-for-3 and scored three times, and freshman Ayla Ray had two hits and drove in two runs, but the Youngstown State softball team fell to Brown, 10-5, on Sunday afternoon.
Littler led off the game with a single to left and moved to second on Lydia Wilkerson's sacrifice bunt. Ray plated Littler with the game's first run with a base knock to left field.
After Brown scored twice in the first and seven times in the second, Wilkerson's one-out single to center field scored Littler, who singled and reached second on a wild pitch, for the second time.
The Penguins plated three runs in the top of the fifth to cut the lead down to 9-5. After Littler walked and Autumn Behlke was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame, Ray delivered a run-scoring single to center field to score Littler for the third time.
Wilkerson and Bree Kohler, who reached on a fielder's choice scored on consecutive throwing errors.
Brown added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Youngstown State returns to action, Feb. 28-March 2, when it comes back to Rock Hill, S.C. to begin its 12-game spring break trip.
