Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State women's soccer team outshot IU-Indy, but the Jaguars scored a late second-half goal to escape with a 1-0 victory on Thursday evening at Farmers National Bank Field.
The Penguins fall to 2-7-2 overall and 0-3 in the Horizon League while the Jaguars improve to 3-6-2 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Youngstown State peppered 13 shots, including five shots on goal, compared to six total shots for the Jaguars.
The Jaguars, who had just two shots on goal, capitalized on an a breakaway and Hannah Roberson scored the game's lone goal in the 68th minute.
Sara Felder led the Penguins with three shots and two shots on goal while Justine Appolonia and Kate Makkas each had two shots.
Youngstown State hosts Purdue Fort Wayne, Sunday, Sept. 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
