The Youngstown State volleyball team will play its final non-conference contest of the season on Tuesday as it hosts new Division I opponent Mercyhurst at 6 p.m. The match from Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live stats will be available through YSUsports.com.

A Glimpse at the Guins
Youngstown State is coming off of a three-set victory over Kent State on Friday in what was the Penguins' 2024 home opener and the first competition in the refreshed Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center. It was YSU's first sweep of the Golden Flashes since 1981 when the Penguins won 2-0 on a neutral floor. The victory improved YSU's record to 5-6, and it gave the Penguins three wins in their last five matches.

Scouting Mercyhurst
- Mercyhurst is 1-8 this season, which is its first as a Division I program after making the jump from Division II. Mercyhurst has dropped 15 straight sets since beating Siena on Sept. 6.
- YSU and Mercyhurst have several common opponents so far this season. Mercyhurst has gone 0-2 against Canisius and 0-1 against both Akron and Niagara. The Penguins beat Canisius 3-1, swept Niagara and lost 3-0 to Akron. The Lakers are members of the Northeast Conference, and YSU beat NEC preseason co-favorite LIU 3-2 the opening weekend of the season.
- Senior outside hitter Paige Miller leads Mercyhurst with 2.78 kills per set, and she's also averaging 2.59 digs per set. The Lakers have been held to a .089 attack percentage in their first nine matches.
