The Youngstown State men's golf team concluded play in the two-day ECU Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
The Penguins finished 13th as a team with a three-round total of 937. YSU posted team scores of 309 and 312 in the first two rounds, respectively, on Monday before closing the event with a 316 in the third round on Tuesday.
Jacob Sylak finished tied for 41st with a three-round score of 232 (80-77-75) to pace the Penguins individually. The junior's final-round 75 featured seven pars and four birdies as he fired an even-par 36 on the front nine.
Justin Atkinson finished tied for 54th with a three-round total of 234 (77-76-81). The senior's second-round 76 included 12 pars and a birdie on the par-five No. 13. Dean Austalosh came in tied for 58th with a three-round 235 (75-82-78). The redshirt senior's first-round 75 featured 13 pars and a birdie on the par-five No. 17.
Michael Porter carded a three-round score of 240 (77-81-82) while Jimmy Graham turned in a 242 (81-78-83). Playing as an individual, Jake Ryan recorded a three-round total of 244 (85-80-79).
East Carolina claimed the tournament title at 15 over par with a three-round team total of 879. UCF finished as the runner-up with an 881 while Barton College placed third with an 885. UCF's Hans Risvaer earned medalist honors by one stroke at three under par with a three-round 213 (75-69-69).
Youngstown State will continue its spring schedule on April 1-2 with the Don Benbow Bulter Spring Invitational at Highland Golf & Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
