The Youngstown State baseball team will have a full slate of promotions for fans for its home schedule at Eastwood Field that begins on Friday, March 15.
Each of the Penguins' 20 home games in 2024 will have a promotional element or giveaway item.
The home and Horizon League opener will be Friday, March 15, against Purdue Fort Wayne and will feature a schedule magnet giveaway.
There will be $2 Hot Dog Wally hot dogs and $1 pop at the concession stands for Friday games on March 15, March 29, April 12 and April 26. There will be $4 16 oz. beer at the concession stands for Saturday games on March 16, March 30, April 13, April 27 and May 11.
Sunday games on March 17, April 14, April 28 and May 12 will be "Rise Pies Sundays" with fans receiving a free cheese pizza coupon from Rise Pies if YSU scores five runs or more. Tuesday games on March 19, April 2, April 9 and April 23 will be "Trading Card Tuesdays" with fans receiving one of four packs for an exclusive YSU baseball trading card set. All four Tuesday games will also feature $2 game tickets.
There will be a number of giveaway days as well at Eastwood Field. There will be a schedule magnet giveaway for the home opener on March 15, a team poster giveaway on March 16 and a stadium cup giveaway on March 28. The game on March 29 will feature a Pete the Penguin light switch cover giveaway. There will be Pete the Penguin air freshener giveaway on March 30, a YSU lanyard giveaway on April 13 and a YSU t-shirt giveaway for YSU students on April 24. There will also be a YSU cooling towel giveaway on May 11.
YSU's home game against Northern Kentucky on March 28 will be "Free Food Thursday" with the first 50 YSU students receiving a free McChicken from McDonalds. YSU's 2004 and 2014 Horizon League Championship teams will return and be honored as part of the home contest against Milwaukee on April 27. As part of the championship reunion, there will be a special giveaway of 2004 and 2014 championship pennants.
The game on Friday, May 10, against Wright State will be the Akron Children's Hospital of Mahoning Valley School Day Game with hundreds of local students in attendance. The regular season home finale against Wright State on Sunday, May 12, will mark Senior Day as YSU's senior class will be honored during a special ceremony prior to first pitch.
