Dayton, Ohio – Sophomore Taylor Berry and graduate student Regan LaVigna each scored goals, but the Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to Wright State on Thursday evening.
The Penguins fall to 5-4-1 overall and 1-2 in Horizon League play while the Raiders improve to 4-3-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Wright State's Macey Moore put the Raiders on top with a goal in the 23rd minute off an assist from Olivia Mace.
The Penguins knotted the game , 1-1, on Berry's second goal of the season at the 34:46 mark.
Three minutes before the intermission, Wright State's Elise Kukuck put the Raiders up, 2-1, at the 41:54 mark.
Wright State took a 3-1 lead after a Kaylin Helsinki goal in the 50th minute.
LaVigna cut the deficit to 3-2 with her first goal of the year at 86:42 mark.
The Penguins host IUPUI, Sunday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
