Washington, D.C. – Jordan Evans scored her first goal of the season but the Youngstown State women's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw against George Washington on Thursday afternoon.
The Penguins move to 3-1-1 overall while the Revolutionaries move to 2-1-1 on the year.
Senior Brooklynn Kirkpatrick tallied nine saves and faced a total of 22 shots.
Evans put the Penguins on the board first at the 12:42 mark of the game. Graduate student Regan LaVigna's throw-in from the left side found Taylor Berry, who centered the ball to Evans with a header. Evans' header sailed over the outstretched arms of the GW goalie.
LaVigna and Berry were both credited with an assist.
George Washington tied the game on a goal by Caitlin Cunningham at the 31:17 mark.
Youngstown State totaled 10 shots led by Maddie Keister's three and LaVigna's two.
The Penguins host Indiana State, Sunday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
