Law Named to ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team

Youngstown State redshirt junior shortstop Trey Law has been named to the ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team for his performance during the 2023 season, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday.
The 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-Region Teams were announced in all eight regions on Tuesday. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee.
This marks the third consecutive season that YSU has had a player earn all-region honors. Collin Floyd and Dominick Bucko were each named first-team all-region in 2021, and Matt Brosky was a second-team all-region pick in 2022.
Law, who was named Second-Team All-Horizon League, batted .362 and slugged .452 with 80 hits, 17 doubles, one home run and 29 RBIs over 52 games played in 2023. The Camp Hill, Pa., native also recorded 24 walks, 50 runs scored, 100 total bases, a .437 on-base percentage and 10 stolen bases. He led the Horizon League with 80 hits while ranking second in batting average, fifth in doubles and on-base percentage and sixth in runs scored.
Law's 80 hits are tied for the third most in a season in program history. He is the first Penguin to record at least 80 hits in a season since Jacke Healey had 83 in 2010. Law's 50 runs scored are tied for the eighth most in a single campaign in school history. He hit safely in 43 of his final 49 games after putting together a career-best 15-game hitting streak from April 15 to May 18. Law was named Horizon League Co-Batter of the Week on Feb. 28.
