YSU Baseball Announces Trio of Fall Exhibition Contests

The Youngstown State baseball team will play a trio of fall exhibition contests against outside competition during the month of October, third-year head coach Trevor Charpie announced on Thursday.
The Penguins will play at Pitt on Sunday, Oct. 11, before hosting Akron on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Clark State College on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 717 Credit Union Field at Eastwood.
YSU's first fall exhibition game at Pitt is set to begin at 11 a.m. while the first home contest at 717 Credit Union Field at Eastwood is also slated for an 11 a.m. first pitch. The fall finale against Clark State College is scheduled for a noon first pitch.
Youngstown State will hold its first official practice of the fall on Friday afternoon. The Penguins are incorporating a group of 20 newcomers, which includes 11 transfers and nine freshmen. In addition to the group of 20 newcomers, the Penguins also have 20 returners from last season currently on the program's roster.
