PENGUINS UNITE!!! YSU Baseball to Hold Autism Awareness Game on April 30

In conjunction with YSU World Penguin Day, which is April 25, our Penguins have united to generate awareness for autism during Autism Awareness Month. The Youngstown State baseball program and the Rich Center for Autism are hosting an Autism Awareness Game on Sunday, April 30, at noon against Milwaukee at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio.

SenSource Vice President and Rich Center Advisory Board member, Kevin Stefko, will be throwing out the first pitch at the game. Gate receipts and donations at the gate that day will benefit the Rich Center for Autism. In addition, YSU players will be wearing special autism awareness jerseys for that game. As part of the event, those game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off and the proceeds will benefit the Rich Center and the YSU baseball program.

To view the jerseys, take part in the jersey auction and support the event, please visit the link provided above. The jersey auction ends Monday, May 1 at 6 p.m.  All auction winners will be able to pick up their jerseys at the YSU Athletic Ticket Office in Stambaugh Stadium during regular business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) starting Wednesday, May 3.

If item(s) are requested to be shipped, the winning bidder will be responsible for all shipping and handling charges. Please contact Assistant Coach Eric Bunnell at ebunnell@ysu.edu or 330-581-9686 to make arrangements for those items to be shipped.

The Rich Center for Autism was established in 1995 through the collaborative efforts of the Kosar, Rich (Ricchiuti), and Rubino families who have a shared interest in autism. In collaboration with Youngstown State University, The Rich Center for Autism is located on the campus and functions as a not-for-profit.
