The Youngstown State men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over Navy on Sunday morning at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. The Penguins won all six singles contests in straight sets against the Midshipman.
YSU (4-3) won for the third straight time and capped off a strong homestand that also featured wins against SFU-Brooklyn and Duquesne.
After a tough battle in doubles, the Guins came out swinging in singles play.
Laurentiu Mandocescu, Nathan Favier, Will Everett, Javi Pla, David Alvarez Moreno and Asier Pena Ibanez all won in straight sets.Â
In doubles, Mandocescu and Favier won 6-3, but Navy fought off match points at No. 2 and No. 3 to win the point.
YSU is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Washington, D.C., to take on Georgetown. First serve for the contest against the Hoyas in the District is set for noon.
