Youngstown State heads back on the road to take on in-state foe Dayton, Friday, Nov. 24, at UD Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Dayton, Ohio. The game will be broadcast on 570 WKBN, Bally Sports Ohio and ESPN+.

Last Time Out
Youngstown State is coming off a 79-57 win over Lake Erie on Nov. 19. Sophomore John Lovelace, Jr., scored a career-high 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting to lead the Penguins. Ziggy Reid had 12 points and DJ Burns added 11.
Series vs. Dayton
This is the 10th meeting between Youngstown State and Dayton in a series that dates back to 1940. This is the first meeting between the schools since Dec. 12, 1983. Dayton leads the all-time series, 5-4, and has won the last two contests. The Flyers won the last meeting, 73-64, in 1983, and also defeated the Penguins, 83-59, in 1977. The last time Youngstown State defeated Dayton was a 76-73 win in 1951. Youngstown State's last and only victory in Dayton was a 44-35 win in 1942.
Scouting Dayton
Dayton enters the game with an overall record of 3-2 and is coming off a 69-55 loss to Houston on Nov 19. The Flyers also have wins over SIUE, 63-47, on Nov. 6, LSU, 70-67, on Nov. 16, and St. John's, 88-81, on Nov. 17. Leading the Flyers is averaging 16.2 points per game while Nate Santos is averaging 13.6 points per contest. The Flyers are averaging 68.4 points per game and shooting 45.1 percent from the field as a team.

Rush Nearly Makes History
Youngstown State fifth-year senior Brandon Rush buried 10 3-pointers in the Penguins 99-71 win over Ohio Christian. He is just the second player in school history to make at least 10 3s in a game and the first to do so since Mike Alcorn set the school record with 11 on Feb. 24, 1992.Â
Double-Double Trouble
Graduate student DJ Burns has been a force on the boards and scoring the ball this season. In his first five games at Youngstown State, Burns has record three double-doubles. He had 13 points and 11 rebounds at Louisiana,  17 points and 11 rebounds against Ohio Christian, and 16 points and 11 boards against Utah Tech.
Lovelace Sets Career High
Sophomore John Lovelace, Jr., willed the Penguins to victory on Sunday with a career-high 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Lovelace connected on 12-of-17 from the floor with two 3-pointers. It marked the first 20-point game of his career.
Penguin Portal Success
Over the last two seasons, Youngstown State has flourished during the transfer portal era. The Penguins own a record of 44-27 over the past two-plus campaigns, and produced five all-conference selections. Youngstown State has been tough to beat at home over the last two years posting a 30-10 mark.
