Penguins Announce Mid-December Non-Conference Game at Ole Miss

Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State men's basketball team will take on Southeastern Conference member Mississippi on Tuesday, Dec. 15, as part of the 2026-27 non-conference portion of the schedule, Head Coach Ethan Faulkner announced on Tuesday.
Game time and television assignment will be announced at a later date.
This marks the first meeting between the Penguins and Rebels, and the fifth time overall that Youngstown State has played a team from the SEC and the first since 2012.
Youngstown State owns an all-time record of 1-3 against the SEC, and the Penguins knocked off Georgia, 68-56, on Nov. 12, 2012, the last time they played an SEC squad.
The Rebels went 15-20 in 2025-26, including a 7-9 home record at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss and 4-14 in the SEC.
The Penguins open the 2026-27 campaign at St. Bonaventure on Nov. 2 and face in-state foes Ohio State on Nov. 6 and Cincinnati on Nov. 18.
