Rochester, Mich. -- Freshman Taylor Berry scored her first career goal late in the second half as the Youngstown State women' soccer team salvaged a tie against Oakland on Thursday evening at the Oakland Soccer Field.

The Penguins, who over 2-0-2 over their last four games, improve to 2-4-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the Horizon League while Oakland moves to 3-1-5 overall and 0-0-1 in league play.

Trailing,1-0, in the 82nd minute, Regan LaVigna's throw-in found Berry at the six and her game-tying header found the top right corner of the net at 81:42 mark.

The Golden Grizzlies control much of the first half delivering nine total shots to YSU's one took a 1-0 lead on Alexa Sabbagh's goal at the 29.49 mark of the game.

Youngstown State was much more aggressive offensively in the second half posting six shots to Oakland's five.

Brooklynn Kirkpatrick tallied four saves and faced 14 shots for the Penguins.

The Penguins host Wright State, Sunday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
